Enough

December 22nd, 2003

Ok .. I usually don’t even pay attention to “chain” type emails that get sent out — (everyone says that, don’t they? Just before they forward a chain letter?) .. Anyway, this post is about, and will include an excerpt from a chain letter that was recently emailed to me from my mother-in-law.

Many who know me, know that I’m an advocate of life. I strive, and encourage others to strive to enjoy life; to get the most out of life. Life can be short. My life goal is to live today knowing that there might not be a tomorrow. I don’t always achieve that goal — often falling victim to the stresses and dulldrums of daily life and forgetting my goal. In general, however, I work toward a life I will be proud to look back on someday.

Having said that, I offer this concept of “enough”.

“I wish you enough,

….to have a life filled with enough good things to sustain ….

I wish you enough sun to keep your attitude bright. I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun more. I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive. I wish you enough pain so that the smallest joys in life appear much bigger. I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting. I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess. I wish enough “Hello’s” to get you through the final “Good-bye.”
