Hey!

Well, as much as you loved having us up there, that’s how much (if not more) that we loved being up there! We had a fantastic weekend, and Alex is still talking about it (chilli and shania too .. hehe.. ) !! :) My pictures and videos are up on our website, under the vacation section –

We spent our wonderful weekend on our bikes .. yesterday, Nick and I went on a backroad ride with a group of friends — we rode 46 miles on dirt roads up in the Washington Township area .. it was one of the most difficult things I can ever remember doing, but it was an incredible experience .. it was even fun :) We rode in some beautiful wooded areas for nearly 5 hours.. the temperature was perfect and the guys were patient with me (this was the longest ride I’ve ever done). There were lots of hills, and I even hit 30 mph on a downhill *yikes* what a blast! A bit sore this morning though .. hehe

And to top it off, we took the boys out and met a group of friends on Belle Isle for some riding today because the weather was so nice again! We probably had 15 people out with us today, with a few kids too, and we rode around the island 3 times! It was a beautiful day and a sweet ride .. much fun :)

So, this is how I get through the days down here in SE Michigan … if I can’t get to ‘lil presque, I might as well find some beauty down here.. It was nice to see that just about all the people we rode past on Belle Isle were friendly and full of smiles.. many said hello, and a few offered quick conversation… Sometimes, beautiful scenery can be found in people..

Wow, that was deep .. I just notices things like that from time to time..

Ok, on that note, I’m gonna hit the sack because I’m really worn out!

Talk to you later, and hope to see you soon,
miss ya,
love,
martha

> Hi,
> It was such a quick weekend, we loved having you all and Alex, too. Thanks for closing up the beds and folding the feather beds back into their little plastic zipper bags….you have so much work packing up your regular stuff. It was great to have all back to normal when I got home from work. I really appreciate it — come back anytime! We loved playing and hiking with the dogs. We got some good pictures.

> It was 55 degrees on the deck this afternoon — I had to tear myself away to go back to snowshoe Little Presque Isle, it was sunny and 42 degrees there…no wind. It was another perfect afternoon.

> I got the stained glass back from the repair store- it looks great in the window seat.
>
> Attached some pictures — I need to get them up on the Web…maybe tonight. I have some stuff to get ready for work next week. I haven’t forgot, though…
>
> Love to all, hope you can come back up this spring…later MOM.

Wafer-thin mint?

February 14th, 2004

I think I’m in some sort of slump. I used to post deep and meaningful stuff in my blog, and it seems lately, if I post at all, its mumbo jumbo boring crapola that no one really gives two shits about.

I feel like my life has become superficial and routine lately… somewhat .. mundane. Its as if I keep waiting for something fantastic to happen, but nothing fantastic is happening. Like I’m selling myself short somehow. Like I could be doing more. Like I should be achieving something. Instead, I stroll though every day being mediocre at just about everything and just getting by.
